How Would It Be Like To Live Inside a Viking Longhouse?

Back to the Viking Age, there was neither concrete nor heavy metal to build a house as the way we do today. They often relied on natural materials like woods which still provided them warmth in the winter and coolness in the summer.

The Vikings would build their house as a single-room house. The kitchen was right in the middle of the living room. According to the scholars, the Vikings did so because they wanted to provide enough heat for the family during the winter. Because in the winter, Scandinavian weather would be very harsh.

As the fame of the Viking culture is climbing up and up, Viking-styled houses are falling into favor accordingly. Below are some photos of inside a Viking longhouse.
